How to Make a YouTube Intro Video (The Easy Way!) Using Canva
Hey friend! If you’re a real estate agent who's been thinking about jumping into the YouTube world—or maybe you’re already on YouTube but wondering how in the world to create a clean and simple intro video for your channel—you’re in the right place!
Today, I’m breaking down exactly how you can create an easy, quick, and totally personalized YouTube intro video using one of my favorite tools: Canva. And yep, you don’t need to be a tech wizard to do this!
Let’s dive in.
Why an Intro Video?
You’ve probably seen those short clips at the beginning of YouTube videos—you know, the ones that look super professional and say something like “Living in Salt Lake City with Mariah”. That’s your intro! It sets the tone, tells viewers what to expect, and gives your brand that extra polished feel.
Step 1: Open Canva and Search “YouTube Intro Video”
Start by heading over to Canva and searching “YouTube Intro Video” in the template search bar. You can even narrow it down by typing in your niche—like Real Estate. There are so many beautiful templates already built for you, with fonts, colors, and animations you can fully customize.
If you’re like me and like to keep things on-brand, this is where you can really have fun choosing styles that reflect your vibe and the market you serve.
Step 2: Customize Your Video With Local Clips
Here’s the magic: if you’re a Canva Pro user (or even using the free version), you can search videos based on your area!
I’m in the Salt Lake City area, so I just typed in “Utah” or “Park City” and pulled in stunning drone footage of arches, mountains, and local scenes. You can choose a handful of clips and arrange them into a short 8–12 second intro. Just remember to keep each clip short and snappy—1–2 seconds each works great!
If you’ve got your own drone footage or personal videos, even better! Just head over to the Uploads section and drop them right in.
Step 3: Add Your Personal Branding
Now comes the fun part—YOU!
Drop in a professional photo (I recommend using the Background Remover tool to make it pop!)
Add text like “Living in [Your City]” or “Hosted by [Your Name]”
Use your brand fonts and colors
Add subtle animations (like “Breathe” or “Pop”) to bring your text to life
You can even play around with fun graphics, shapes, or highlight elements that match your energy.
Step 4: Don’t Forget the Music
Let’s give it a little vibe, shall we?
On the left side panel, click on Audio and explore tons of royalty-free tracks inside Canva. Whether you want something upbeat, chill, or inspiring, you’ll find it all. Simply preview the track, drag it onto your video, and trim it to fit your intro’s length. You can also adjust the volume so it’s not overpowering.
Final Touches + Export!
Once everything looks and sounds the way you want, go ahead and export your video (I recommend MP4 format). You can then upload it to YouTube and either:
Add it to the beginning of every new video you create
Use it as your channel trailer to welcome new subscribers
Boom—your YouTube channel just leveled up!
You Got This
You don’t need to be a designer or video editor to create an eye-catching YouTube intro. Just open Canva, get creative, and have fun showing off your local market and personality!
